Summary/Abstract: In the south-Danubian region between the rivers Timok and Morava a numerous population from Romanian origin can be found. They immigrated from the Banat region and from Wallachia., Statiustic sources published by Serbian institutions mention this minority, but the fuigures given there are mostly unprecise and sometimes contradictory. In 1910 and 11 two Romanian researchers (G. Ginglea and G. Valsan) visited the region and published a collection of folkloristic Romanian songs.- Already 12 years before the German researcher Weigand had travelled this part of Serbia and published the article "Die Rumänen in Serbien" (Globus 1900). St. Romansky again made a expedition to the rivers Timok and Morava in 1916. The text contains his report on the result of his study tour.
