RELATION BETWEEN ANDROGYNY AND DEPRESSION

Summary/Abstract: The present paper subscribes to recent preoccupations regarding the role and implications of gender identity formation upon adaptation and upon pathology implicitly. In the present study we proposed to investigate mainly the relation between androgyny and depression in the context of two different cultures (Greece and Great Britain). In the design of our study we have included a series of variables which we assumed might have an influence upon this relation, as we have deducted from the specialized literature analysis: the gender of the participants, their sexual orientation and age.
