Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the possessive verbs and their grammatical usages as a base of complex predicates with modal or pure grammatical meaning. The structure of the centre of the semantic field of possessivity in modern Bulgarian, Czech and Russian is presented. The problem has its history and modern languages present various opportunities for relisation of different typological features. In the Slavic languages we can observe this variability in a large degree so we may conclude that it is specific for every single language.
