Financing the National Strategy Aimed at the Reduction of Poverty in the Respublic of Belarus

Summary/Abstract: Today a struggle with poverty is one of the priori-ties of the Program of development of the United Nations is reflected in the Declaration of the millennium. The main purpose of the millennium is reduction of poverty and famine in the countries of East Europe and CIS is examined in a national context. In spite of a strongly declared social orientation of the state and a rather high level of development of human potential, the Republic of Belarus has faced the problem of poverty. Financial support for the realization of the national strategy reducing poverty in the Republic of Belarus is one of the state major problems. The paper deals with basic conceptual approaches to financing strategy in the Republic of Belarus. All sources of financing, its structure and role implementing primary goals of the strategy are analyzed in the paper. The efficiency budgetary mechanisms realizing of the strategy is studied. The importance of the Value Fund of Social Protection of the population of the Republic of Belarus as source of financing the strategy, its financial situation, problems and prospects of its development are shown.
