„Was it or was it not?”. The events in Iaşi in march 1848: boyars' action or revolutionary movement?

Summary/Abstract: Through this article we try to emphasize the necessity of a complex and complete revaluation of both the Romanian historical literature and the documents of the time in order to have a clear and proper image regarding the events that took place in the Principality of Moldavia at the end of March 1848. Thus we also join the increasing number of historians and researchers who consider that this endeavour is more than desirable and indicated as nowadays there still are various specialists who continue to write about those events in the ideological key that was promoted by the former Communist regime.
