Summary/Abstract: It is posed the question about the great role of the twins in the Bulgarian traditional culture: at ploughing-time, in receiving of a fi re, in the national medicine, in the national calendar, in the songs, tales, legends, beliefs etc. It is emphasized the marked interest of all cultures and mythologies to the phenomenon of the twins. It is paid attention to the twins as a symbol, which is used from K. G. Yung in his research “About the regeneration”. With regard to this, we search a connection with this idea of Yung for constructive dialog between the conscious and unconscious. In connection to the twin myth it is considered the effect of the mirror. It is emphasized that the mirror, which is with many positive meanings and symbols, is very well chosen symbol about the reveal of the essence and the meaning of series of psychological phenomena and processes. “Mirror” moments in the folklore and in human psyche caused associations with the notion stage of the mirror (researched by the French psychoanalyst Jan-Marry Lakan), which on the other hand remind of the meaning of the play and the change of the human roles. It reminds of the play model of the traditional culture, of the psychodrama and of the sincerity at the playing-time of roles as well.
