Summary/Abstract: Mixing such main characteristics as genres, forms and styles is a significant feature of contemporary film. The new stage in mix-genre films is examined using Theodore Ushev’s “Lipsett Diaries” (Canada), “Madagascar, Carnet De Voyage” (“Madagascar, A Journey Diary”) by Bastien Dubois (France) and Martin Scorsese’s “Hugo” (US). Hybridism in these works has reached mature forms that suggest also redefining of audiovisual products. Each of the individual types of expressiveness (animation, feature film, documentaries, etc.) acts as a magnifying mirror upon the other, forwarding new options for influence.
