Summary/Abstract: The history of the Russian-Montenegrin diplomatic dialogue is the bright example of stereotypes’ destruction. Images of the “unbreakable” Russian-Montenegrin friendship, that the scientific and popular literature of both the Russia and Yugoslav people are full of, have not been confirmed in the diplomatic routine of the two mentioned countries. Shortly, the cooperation was hard to be achieved, since both countries, Russia and Montenegro, have had their specific goals.
