Summary/Abstract: The present study attempts to offer an in-depth analysis of Carol Ardeleanu’s literary work “Rochia albă” (“The White Dress”). The book is a collection of sketches and short stories published in 1921, where the author gathers miscellaneous facts that he literarily developes in a concise manner. Carol Ardeleanu attempts to present several dramatic moments lived by his favourite characters: losers, dreamers, and people living on the edge of society, etc. Mention should also be made about the author’s interest in veracity, observation, urban decayed environments, etc. developed in his future novels.
