Summary/Abstract: Over the last several years, Åke Edwardson’s crime fiction in Poland has been enjoying increasing popularity among readers. He is not an outstanding writer, and he does not create literary masterpieces, but does not shy away from difficult and important topics. He asks pointed questions about what is eating at Sweden (a peaceful and orderly utopia), or what myth of self-identification Europe would like to continue believing in. The archaeology of crime under the pen of Edwardson turns into a quasi-anthropological and sociological reflection. The writer is revealed to be a person who is aware of the tensions and problems in society, of which he is a co-creator, in which he lives, and for which he takes responsibility.
