Summary/Abstract: The village Putovići is situated 6 kilometres north-east from Zenica, on the crossroad of the roads to Kakanj, Fojnica and Vitez. Thanks to excellent geostrategical position, Putovici had local importance during ancient as well as medieval age. Although isolated archeological findings were discovered in XIX century, systematic researches in Putovici were implemented only in 1968, under the leadership of Cedomir Trajkovic and Dusanka Trajkovic. During the researches three ancient buildings were discovered, and the biggest one was established as roman bath. Archeologist Veljko Paskvalin assumed that in Putovici there was important pre – roman settlement, and during the researches in 1968, artefacts from iron age were also founded. Despite those results, satisfactory researches on broader region of Putovici are not yet implemented. The existance of Roman influence in broader region of Putovici is confirmed by new findings of roman age paved road, as well as architectural fragment discovered accidentaly, both presented in this paper. Determining of role of region of Putovici in ancient age is yet to be stated, but it is clear that this region is connected with ancient roman city located in Zenica, for which scientists have not yet found satisfactory solution in terms of its name and location determination. Determining of Putovici and significance of this place will certainly help in solving this question.
