Summary/Abstract: Companies have to keep pace with the modern technological trends. Such is the implementation of websites in the business processes of the companies. Websites do not only offer to be utilized in the communications with the clients, but as well to be used in transactional processes, i.e. buying/selling the products and services. Hence, companies enter the realm of electronic commerce. E-commerce improves the transactions conducted with electronic means, and also enhances the other business processes through the use of information and communications technology, which is especially evident from the implementation of e-business in the operations of the companies. In addition, e-commerce encompasses four categories of performing online transactions, as well as online business models, whose proper and efficient usage depends on the information collected about the customers’ specific needs and desires on the part of the companies.
