„Novelty” of Electroweak Theory

Summary/Abstract: The way in which electroweak theory is designed represents the climax attained by the changes generated in physics by the introduction of the symmetry principles and of the invariance idea. How new is this theory is a major question here. I shall try to answer to it in this paper partly based on M. Morrison’article. The answer is that we are not facing a totally new approach, but a specific for the way in which the electroweak theory is created. And this has a partial resemblance with at least three ways of understanding how a physics theory is made: the one of Kepler’s, of Einstein’s and of Kant’s.
