Regulation and Legal Nature of the Family Allowances

Summary/Abstract: The article first treats the Bulgarian Family Allowances Act, the problems about the subjects of family allowances and the conditions of their entitlement. It next poses the topical question what family allowances are: a social insurance or welfare benefits? The author's conclusion is that family allowances are specific aids granted by our state. They are part of the government's social policy towards Bulgarian families.
