Summary/Abstract: Akira Kurosawa’s "Rashomon" is a pretext for reflecting on convergence of thought that, like Hegel’s Geist, combines the worldviews of Western Europe and the Far East, which are contradictory in many respects. Wągiel uses the example of Tajômaru, one of "Rashomon’s" heroes, to ask the question about the motives of irrational actions by members of various cultures.
