Summary/Abstract: This paper examines children's ability of using correctly noun forms in the Bulgarian literary language with an accent on such grammar categories as: gender, number and the use of articles. The group that was examined was comprised of 239 children from 4 different administrative regions, studying in the second and third grades at common Bulgarian schools. Bulgarian, Turkish and Roma languages were the three native mother-tongues of the children. Statistical and analytic methods were applied, including cluster analysis and descriptive statistics. The results demonstrate that children who have problems using literary grammatical features of Bulgarian have the same problems while learning English language in school.
