E. Boratynsky’s Book of Verse of 1827 in the Literary Process of the Early 19th Century

Summary/Abstract: This paper characterizes the structural peculiarity of E. Boratynsky’s first collection “Poems” published in 1827. The influence of traditions that existed in Russian literature in the first third of the 19th century on the book’s composition is traced, and the role of the author’s personality in the creation of the collection is emphasized. It is proved that Boratynsky tried to give certain integrity to his first collection and to reflect a complete poetic intention in it. Therefore, the edition of 1827 is considered to be the first step on the way to creation of the book of poems “Twilight” (1842).
