Summary/Abstract: This article describes the prehistoric items from the County Museum of Nikšić that were used as axes. Though most of those were accidently discovered, their presence in this area is to affirm a very important prehistorical role Nikšić had. In fact, most of those items were imported, which speaks volumes about the trade between this region and the neighbouring ones. The curiosity of those axes led us to a conclusion that most of them had neutral function, i.e. that they were neither used as fighting axes nor as wood cutting tools, etc, but rather as items of special use.
