Summary/Abstract: Hadad (romanian: Hodod, german: Kriegsdorf) in the region of Sathmar (hungarian Szatmárnémeti, romanian Satu Mare) was populated in the third quarter of the 18th century by the hungarian nobleman Wesselényi with lutherans from southern Germany. As sole protestant and german-speaking minority in the region auround Sathmar, the germans of Hadad always had a stronger affinity with the transylvanian saxons. After the second world war, the mainly hungarian-speaking community of german origin remained without pastor. In august 1946, Johann Miess from Hermannstadt (Sibiu) made a visit to Hadad for the purpose of confirmation and to write a report about the situation of this isolated village. His report is published here completely.
