Summary/Abstract: By becoming a special literature toponym, border zones had obtained some special characteristics due to identity fluctuations and constant changes of relations between minority and majority. This has contributed to development of dynamic geomorphology on the level of collective awareness. Novel „Mara“ by Ioan Slavici and novels „Birds“ and „Water“ by Alexandru Ivasiuc depict those areas of Banat and Transilvania at the end of 19th and the begining of 20th century. Here, literature has taken over images of social changes in which, most usual, individuals change their ancestral behaviour, first formally but later more deeply due to social, multiethnical and multi- and intercultural changes.
