Social cohesion as an object of sociological inquiry

Summary/Abstract: Summary The article aims to review the diversity of interpretations of social cohesion as well as to draw attention to the aspects that are relevant to the sociological interpretation of the concept in diverse political, economic and social domains. The article also analyses social cohesion indicators and the possible applications of these indicators when investigating the socio-economic context in Lithuania.
