Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the problem about the mythologization of the appearance of Stalin in the soviet and post-soviet national tradition with an accent on his physical deformity. Except the dried up hand, the national consciousness focuses on the supposition that Stalin has hoofs or he has hand with six fi ngers. In the text is described how this model of mythologization generates new texts which approached to the image of Stalin to the one of Satan. However in actual fact these type narratives are different from the traditional oral stories about demonic creatures. In them the demonic nature of the character is not directly indicated but it is shred the secret about his physical deformity. In this consists the difference between the mythologizing consciousness from the past and mythology nowadays.
