Summary/Abstract: Roma constitute the most numerous ethnic minority in EU and the 2nd most numerous national minority in Slovakia. Roma are characterised with a significantly different way of life compared to the majority, resulting often in marginalisation, immunocompromitation and deteriorated health. The present paper summarizes the latest findings on the health status of Roma in Slovakia conducted in 2011 within the HEPA META cross-sectional population-based project and tries to answer the question whether the concerns about the Roma – from a health perspective – are justified.
