Summary/Abstract: At the symposium marking four centuries since the death of the Moldavian prince Ieremia Movilă, held at Suceviţa monastery in 2006, researchers Florin Marinescu and Nikolaos Mertzimekis (Greece) presented a document issued by Ieremia Movilă and kept in the archives of Vatoped Monastery of Mount Athos, according to which the dedication of Golia Monastery of Iaşi went back to the year 1604. It is an original document, written in Greek, signed by the prince and bearing a seal, which seems to indicate that it is authentic. However, the family, such as it appears in the document, and the villages mentioned there are in disagreement with information from other documents proven to be authentic. Therefore, until further investigation, the author of the present paper recommends that this document should be regarded with all due caution.
