Summary/Abstract: The possibility of adjourning a committee sitting is not explicitly provided for in the Standing Or‑ders of the Sejm. However, the adjournment of a sitting of the committee by the presiding chair‑man during a vote in progress, if it is not related to circumstances which may directly prevent thecompletion of the voting procedure, constitutes an unacceptable – in the light of the provisions ofthe Standing Orders of the Sejm and established parliamentary practice – procedural irregularity. If,in the course of a vote, circumstances arise which may actually affect the possibility of completingthe voting procedure, such as a failure of the electronic voting system or misleading of the commit‑tee members during the call to vote, it should be considered acceptable to interrupt the procedureand cancel it at the same time.
