Summary/Abstract: The problem of coexistence of people and wolves in the Kingdom of Poland in the 19th century has not yet been in the circle of interests of Polish historiography. Meanwhile, it was a period of not only centralized mass extermination of wolves but also not very numerous, yet having a wide social resonance, wolf attacks on people. The article contains several source documents related to the latter issue, and more precisely, concerned with the wolf attacks on children in Lublin Governorate in the middle of the XIX century. The collected materials confirm the existence of such tragic events and show the actions taken by the administration at various levels to prevent their recurrence.
