Summary/Abstract: This article presents Konstantin Shtarkelov as a military artist during the Balkan Wars. His works from this period are stored in his personal fonds under No. 2046К in the Central State Archives. Three aspects that represent the activities of the artist are examined: his diaries, portrait drawings of the participants in the war, the battles and landscapes of the populated areas through which the Bulgarian troops passed. The archival documents reveal the war, recall the history and feat of those generations of Bulgarians who gave their lives for the national ideals, for the unification and better future of our country. Thanks to them, the artistic image of the war with its wounds, victories and memorable faces comes to life on canvas and paper
