Summary/Abstract: Following the premises that the history of journalism is a collection of lessons for the present and future periods, the aim of the submitted study is to put near common factors of transformation of the periodical press in the France, Great Britain and Germany in the period of the so-termed ‘Belle Époque‘(1871 – 1914) that were mirrored in the contentual, graphical and formal aspects, in the circulation rate of the periodical press of the stated countries of Western Europe, they also affected the readership and the forming journalistic profession itself and they drew attention in the sphere of contemporary intellectuals.
