Summary/Abstract: The place of Turkish women in the historical process has been shaped according to time, religious values, customs and traditions. The place of Turkish women in society before and after Islam and the society's point of view on women should not be evaluated independently of the social structure in which they live. In ancient Turks having a nomadic lifestyle women could take part in every work inside and outside the home, as well as in politics after the Turks established a state. In this regard, the name “Hatun”, which was first recorded for the wife of Bumin Kagan during the Gokturks, can be given as an example. The Turks' acceptance of Islam and their contact with Arab-Persian cultures resulted in their intellectual world to change over time. While the strengthening of the organic link between religion and politics, especially in the Ottoman Empire since the 16th century, shaped the social mentality, the driving force of customs and traditions also affected the lifestyle of Muslim Turkish women. This article discusses the period from Ottoman Empire to the early years of the Republic, and dıscusses how the way of life and social position of Turkish women were affected by changes in societal views towards them throughout this vast time interval within the context of the relationship between religion and politics. The study focuses on the articles in periodicals published in Ottoman between the years of 1914 and 1928, namely “Kadınlar Dünyası, Yeni Kitap, Altunışık, Asri Türkiye Mecmuası, Türk Kadını, İctihad, Resimli Ay, Süs, Hayat, Kadın Yazıları” .
