Summary/Abstract: In September 2023, Trnava hosted the XXVI. annual conference "Ethnologist and Museum," focusing on markets and fairs. Organized by the Slovak Ethnographic Society, the Ethnological Commission of the Union of Museums in Slovakia, the Trnava Self-Governing Region, and the Western Slovak Museum, the event showcased research on historical markets and fairs. The conference featured international contributions, including collaborations with Ukrainian institutions. Presentations covered diverse topics such as the economic aspects of Carpathian hero memorials, the complementarity of market networks in 19th-century Slovakia, and the cultural significance of fairs in various regions. The event also included excursions to local cultural landmarks, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and networking among participants.
