Summary/Abstract: An austrian court has decided to refer three preliminary questions to the Court of Justice of the European Union regarding the interpretation of European legal provisions on the protection of personal data contained in a mobile phone and processed in criminal proceedings. On this occasion, the Court of Justice of the European Union clarified a multitude of aspects regarding the interpretation and application of the relevant legal provisions.
