Summary/Abstract: The article examines the process of clay extraction and brick production in the Teutonic Order’s state in Prussia from the 14th century to the mid-15th century. The authors analyze written sources that provide insights into the technical organization of brick manufacturing, the role of brickyards, and the logistics of construction projects. The study highlights the significance of local brick production for Teutonic fortresses and other structures, describing the distribution and administration of brickyards, the workforce involved, and the challenges of sourcing materials. The findings contribute to understanding medieval construction techniques and the economic importance of brickmaking in the Teutonic Order’s state.
