Summary/Abstract: The Synoptic Gospels are the most authentic accounts of the historical Jesus. Immediately after Jesus' death, a collection of teachings and deeds about Him, spread through oral tradition, was created, most likely in ancient Aramaic. From this collection of sayings, the Greek text attributed to the Evangelist Mark was formed, which is the oldest gospel, and at the same time, the so-called Q source collection came into being. This collection already included insertions and modifications, which differed from the original text, before being preserved in written form. These changes reflected the theological aims of the early Christian congregations and the evangelists.
