Summary/Abstract: The author analyzes works set in the realities of Brzeziny, located near Łódź, in central Poland. Fictional and memoir images of the Jewish-German-Polish small town from before 1939 are particularly important to him. Brzeziny is a town with a long tradition, painfully affected by World War II, as a result of which the continuity of its historical memory was broken. Literature dedicated to Brzeziny includes both memoir texts, novels and lyrical works written by Poles, Jews and Germans with various connections to the town.
