Summary/Abstract: Modern thought essentialy reduced The Other to that which is mere other. The result was knowledge in function of power and domination. Nevertheless, one should seek for solution in idea of ethical transcendence, a concept that posesses highly emancipative potentials towards a world with more justice and liberty.
