Summary/Abstract: The modern economy is characterized by globalization of processes and a high degree of digitization nowadays. The dynamism, competitiveness, the increased migration of the population and, in particular, of labor resources, lead to the need of constant search for new ways of doing things. In this regard, today the key role of an extremely valuable resource is acquired by knowledge. Moreover, the intangible resources to which they refer are crucial for the success of organizations. Achieving sustainability in economic, social and cultural terms implies the generation, acquisition and effective use of knowledge. This is closely related to supplemental learning of already acquired knowledge and skills. The purpose of this article is to characterize knowledge and its management and to analyze the degree of implementation of the lifelong learning strategy in Bulgaria.
