Summary/Abstract: The article reveals the theme of Belarus in the works of the Polish-speaking writer, a native of Eastern Belarus Florian Czarnyszewicz. Czarnyszewicz left four main works "Nadberezyńcy", "Wicik Żywica", "Losy pasierbów", "Chłopcy z Nowoszyszek", in which the Belarusian theme runs quite clearly. Besides the fact that Belarus is a place of events, the author shows his attitude to the issue of interethnic relations. However, it is changing, Nadberezyńcy are imbued with Polish patriotism, the idea of Polish-Belarussian coexistence and cooperation is voiced in the "Wicik Żywica", and the "Chłopcy z Nowoszyszek" demonstrate Czarnyszewicz’s commitment to the “regional idea”. The author believes that the study of Czarnyszewicz’s legacy and the Polish-language literature of Belarus in general is necessary for a better understanding of the country’s history and culture.
