Summary/Abstract: At a time when the literary theory was getting a significant lead in the battle of the critical methods from the West and the Romanian art was seeking to restore the rightful place for the aesthetic factor, the members of ”The Literary Circle from Sibiu” were proposing Romanian culture a new critical perspective based on philosophical coordinates. Their premise is that the literature, as a product of the spirit, can not develop by itself, but in relation to the society and the history which it belongs. In this case, the critical interpretation should not either remain at the reductionist aesthetic, as happened previously, but incorporate it in a number of different values. For them, the recovery of the aesthetic criterion also means enriching it with other superior values, circumscribing it in an upper axiological constellation. "Freedom", "generating ideas", "creation", "criticism" and "humanity" are the five corollaries of a unifying vision of art that they all raised in their literary aesthetic debates and critics, and the proper criticism to value them, I. Negoiţescu called it "trans-aesthetics".
