Summary/Abstract: Constantin Ivanov's study – Evil. Literary Interpretations refocuses our attention, in a 'disjointed' time, on an existential problem with the entire spectrum of symbolic meanings – from antiquity to the present day. Published by the 'Alexandru Ioan Cuza' University Press in Iași, with a preface by Professor Constantin Dram, it quickly established itself as a reference work due to its documentary solidity and depth of analysis. For the first time in our space, Constantin Ivanov investigates the problem of evil reflected in literature with its specific means, namely those of the mythopoetic imagination (through representations that belong to a vision characteristic of certain writers, through characters, epic and dramatic, fantastic and realistic figurations, through parabolic and allegorical projections, by capturing the existential implications it has on man).
