Summary/Abstract: In the early Christian Church the name "saints" was given at the beginning of all who received the faith in Jesus Christ and were baptized in the name of the Holy Trinity. After 1054, in the Roman Catholic Church, "holiness" and "saint" became notions that are understood differently from the meanings found in Orthodoxy: "Saint" is an acquirer of superfluous merits. Also, the way of canonizing a person follows a procedure that goes through several stages. Regarding the Anglican Church, we remember that the oldest calendar we have left of Anglo-Saxon England is that of St. Willibord, the Northumbrian missionary from Friesland (c. 8th century).
