Summary/Abstract: An increase in the number of children with special educational needs around the world brings to the fore the problem of training specialists ready and able to work with them. Success in working with such children is primarily related to the preparation of teachers for it. It is necessary to form in the future teachers special personal qualities that are sought in working with children with special educational needs. Among the qualities that we should emphasize are: an attitude of acceptance of each child, empathy, a desire to cooperate with difficult children, a conscious attitude to one's own activities, independent decision-making and reflection on one's activities. The use of art therapy provides an effective emotional response to negative experiences in socially acceptable ways, develops freedom and the ability to self-regulate, forms a tolerant attitude of children with special educational needs and their parents, motivation to work with children with special educational needs, development of empathic abilities , forming an attitude of acceptance of each child, regardless of his characteristics, self-esteem by creating social recognition of the value of the product.
