Space Ecologistics – choice or necessity

Summary/Abstract: This article discusses the subject of space ecology in the context of the development of space research and the development of the space sector as an important component of modern economies. The concept of space ecology is presented, along with the justification of the importance of the issue and the presentation of examples of existing and conceptual solutions to the problem of waste management in space. The aim of the study is to indicate the necessity of undertaking ecological activities in space. The specific objectives are to identify the current state of waste management in space and to identify solutions and barriers in the implementation of space ecologistics activities. The summary indicates the types of future preventive actions in the field of space ecology that need to be undertaken to minimize waste in space. The article uses the method of literature studies, which includes studies of Polish and foreign literature on space logistics and space ecology.
