Summary/Abstract: Over the past eight years Serbia has been giv¬en a major role in Russian President Vladimir Putin’s trategy for the Balkans. Observers in the West have growingly focused, therefore, on Russia’s conomic, diplomatic, security and cultural “offensive” in the Balkans, especially in Serbia, Republican pike and Montenegro. Considering the fragility of Balkan states, and their problematic transition and mmature po¬litical class, Moscow seems to be achieving its goals rather successfully with the helping and from anti-Western circles.
