Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the paper is to study legal international regulations pertaining to the movement of cultural property across custom borders. The main categories and criteria for objects qualified as items of cultural value are considered. Retrospective analysis of the legal regulation concerning the cultural value concept development is carried out. Rules and procedures relevant to moving items of cultural value across custom borders are considered.
