The impact of economic emigrants on the local economy in Leżajsk county

Summary/Abstract: The study indicates the importance of emigration on selected aspects of the economic situation of the local market on the example of Leżajsk county. Attention was drawn to the transformation occurring on the labor market and the impact of financial transfers from emigrants. It is emphasized that the short-term effects were positive, since they had influence on the reduction of structural unemployment. In addition, transfers from emigrants allowed to improve the economic status of residents of the county. However, the long run, these positive effects seem to be very limited.
