Summary/Abstract: The village Alămor lies in Transylvania and is more than 600 years old; it was first mentioned in 1300 in a stock-taking of the places of Transylvania. During the centuries the name of the village appears in the documents in different forms, according to the national language used at the respective time and the administrative affiliation of Transylvania. The manner the name was written changed as followes: from Olmur (in 1300) it became Almor (1388), Almar (1396), Alamar (1407) and, finally, Alămor (1870). The latter is the Romanian name of the village until today.
