The study, based on secondary sources (memoirs), was conducted using the biographical method. The first part of the paper dwells on the historical context of the study covering the period of the first Soviet occupation, as well as presents the adopted theoretical perspective – the category of clash of cultures. In the second part, the sources used in the research are characterized, as well as the way of using the biographical method and the course of the research procedure are presented. The most important results of the case study of culture clash based on the biographical method are introduced in the conclusion.
