Summary/Abstract: The author presents here an article written by Napoleon Špun-Strižić, wellknown professor of law and Attorney-General, in which he critically reviews the appearance of the Serb national idea in Slavonia. The article has been so far unknown in Croatian historiography. It deals with historical and legal attitudes of the Serbs towards Croatia, the Serb national idea and the question of its conformity with legitimate principles of the state rights, and the Yugoslav idea.
