Summary/Abstract: On the basis of documents from Soviet archives the author clarified the problem of education of the young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina at Russian schools and universities. After its defeat in the Crimean War (1853-1856), within the framework of making concepts of its new Eastern policy, Russia made a plan of accepting a number of pupils and students from the Southern Slavic countries under the Osmanli rule.
