Summary/Abstract: The article presents the situation of the Polish people aged 55-64, commonly known as the “silver generation,” in the context of their professional careers and lifelong learning. The aim of the analysis is to examine the relationship between these people’s education or training and their employment. The study uses descriptive statistics, including Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient and the Shap-iro-Wilk normality test. The analysis is based on annual data collected by the Polish Central Statistical Office in the years 2010 – 2020. The results of the research demonstrate that the percentage of people participating in education or training, despite fluctuations in time, increased in the years 2010-2020. Therefore, it can be concluded that that the increase in the number of people participating in education or training is very strongly related to the increase in the employment rate in the analysed age group.
